Worship Teams – Dynamics – Drums

I really have to agree with Greg Atkinson when he posted that dynamics can really be a HUGE factor in leading worship. You should read his post, it’s right on. But I think the big thing for me is to watch how simple and DYNAMIC this video is that he posted by Phil Collins. I like it so much that I wanted to post it below.

… As Long As I’m Sincere

January Sprint or Pace

This is the first full day back in the office for me for the year 2010. Vacation days are fun, relaxing, inspiration … and then the longing for the routine DOES come back.

So I am looking at an instant TO DO list of thing put off until now. My list for today is 21 items long. Whew! But, diving into these tasks can certainly be energizing.

The question is and remains:
How do I pace myself to become more effective THIS YEAR than LAST YEAR?
What will change in life and family — as well as in MINISTRY to Jesus in THIS NEW DECADE?

I know one thing — prayer will be in the mix — and my desire to CONNECT with God and Peeps is non-negotiable.

First Sunday of 10

Every now and again you look at where you’ve been and where you are going in life.

This morning I shared a message of hope regarding truth and the reality of how one’s view of truth effects what they do.

The question for any person to ask is, what is TRUTH? Or as mentioned today, WHO is truth. When you reconcile that the Bible tells us that JESUS is the way the TRUTH and the light, then it comes down to a crossroad point, doesn’t it?

So why don’t you find out about Jesus — in fact READ ALL ABOUT HIM. I suggest starting with the Gospel of John. Then make a decision to become active about what you learn.

Your decision will effect your behavior both here on earth and ultimately answer eternal spiritual destiny questions as well.

Silent Monks Sing Hallelujah Chorus

Book Review: “Primal” by Mark Batterson

primal

Mark Batterson is someone who knows how to say an amazing thing in just a few words. I look at his writings as not only an inspiration, but as something that challenges me to search out my own personal values and trajectory of my life. One thing I know — God wants me to be available to be an instrument that is not necessarily always shiny and unused. I remember that I kind of started that way and learned to get scratched and dirty in my early faith adventures. My prayer is to rekindle that basic, heart-felt desire to allow God to “do it again!”

Overview of Primal:

We have a tendency to complicate Christianity. Jesus simplified it: Love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. If we are to live out the essence of Christianity, we must commit to being great at this Great Commandment.

In Primal, Mark Batterson explores the four elements of Great Commandment Christianity: compassion, wonder, curiosity, and power. Along the way, he calls you to be a part of God’s reformation, starting in your own life.

As Mark writes, “Is there a place in your past where you met God and God met you? A place where your heart broke for the things that break the heart of God? Maybe it was a sermon that became more than a sermon. Maybe it was a mission trip or retreat. Maybe it was a vow you made at an altar. In that moment, God birthed something supernatural in your spirit. You knew you’d never be the same again. My prayer is that this book would take you back to that burning bush—and reignite a primal faith.”

Primal will help you live in light of what matters most and discover what it means to love God. It will help you become great at the Great Commandment.
